GIT-R-DONE LAWNMOWER RACING
Lawn mower racing is nationally sanctioned and this is sure to be a sight to see! Alex Komar of GIT-R-Done Lawn Mower Racing, Thompson, PA brings 10-15 lawn mowers and drivers to race the track in front of the Grandstand. Competitors will win trophies, prizes and the bragging rights as winner of the first Lawn Mower Racing held at the 149th Wayne County Fair. Admission to the grandstand is free, so come early for the race!
Whether it starts out as a John Deere, Toro, Craftsman or Poulan, lawnmower racing enthusiasts can spend $1000 or more “tuning and pruning” their original machines and readying them for a race. Specific rules and regulations must be followed, especially for safety, when building a racing lawn mower. From brakes, to clutches, to leather shoes, helmets and neck braces there is a whole set of lawnmower “musts” to be followed.
